The goal of the ITC program is to provide teachers practical experiences that lead to the thoughtful incorporation of online and blended approaches into their classrooms. The program consists of three levels of badges which can be earned around eleven competencies: Assessing Learning Progress, Creating Assessments, Assessment Data, Digital Citizenship, Learning Strategies, External Communication, Internal Communication, Differentiation, Instructional Approaches, Technology Tools, and Instructional Design.
Knowledge Badges – Goal: I want to know. These beginner badges are designed for teachers who are curious about specific blended and online practices. We’ve organized information in a single place to make it easy for teachers to get up to speed.
Experience Badges – Goal: I want to do. The backbone of the Ignatian Teaching Certificate Program is the Experience badges. Teachers earn Experience badges by participating in programs that incorporate “best practice” knowledge into practical plans. In addition to earning badges, teachers are eligible for Continuing Education Units through Regis University by participating in Experience-level programs such as our online facilitated courses.
Master Badges – Goal: I want to master. The highest level of badges that can be earned, Master level badges were designed to help teachers reach their full potential as Ignatian Educators by sharing their knowledge and expertise with others. Master-level teachers are eligible to provide training or professional development courses through JVLA in a variety of areas related to blended and online learning.
